The British government may pass a law on the deportation of illegal migrants

This statement was made by the head of the British Home Office at a conference of the Conservative Party in Birmingham. According to Suella Braverman, the sharp increase in anti-migration measures is due to the unceasing flow of refugees from France to England across the English Channel.

In her first official speech as Interior Minister, Braverman promised to “use all possible tools of the current legislation” to reduce the level of illegal migration in the country. Among other measures, the politician also made a proposal to strengthen the fight against criminal gangs that often help refugees cross the border. At the same time Braverman promised to grant political asylum to all those who officially have refugee status and really need protection.

Every year tens of thousands of illegal migrants enter the territory of Great Britain across the English Channel. According to official data, this way more than 30 thousand people crossed the border this year, including more than 7.5 thousand in the last month.
