What’s up ZIMA Magazine?

It is a major Russian-language media project based in London, comprising the website zimamagazine.com, the print magazine ZIMA and the offline community ZIMA CLUB. We unite Russian-speaking people who live, work or study in the UK, as well as those who are thinking about the possibility of moving to this country or just frequently visit it. We keep them up to date with important events in the country, inspire and advise them, introduce them to interesting people and tell them how things really work here. The editor-in-chief of the ZIMA project is Alexey Zimin.

Why ZIMA?

Because where we live and work now, there is everything but the winter we are used to. There are a lot of sentimental notes in this word, but when choosing a name for our project, we were simply looking for a short “cultural code” – a word that is understandable to anyone who was born and raised in a country where Russian is spoken, that unites us all wherever we are, and that simply evokes emotions. ZIMA Calls.

What’s the site about?

Zimamagazine.com is the gateway to life in the UK’s Russian-speaking community. We tell who these people are, what they do, what they are interested in, help with advice and answer their questions. We write about community life, startups, business, education, culture and the arts, deal with changes in the law, and share life-enhancing life hacks. We are very quick to respond to English news and are often the first to explain how it can affect the lives of our readers.

And the magazine?

ZIMA magazine is an insider’s guide to the UK. Our authors have long lived in this country, know it well and love it, so the materials of the magazine are always interesting, informative and useful stories about various aspects of English life, about people and their affairs, about traditions, history and culture of Great Britain, as well as about the bright events, which London is so rich in and which should not be missed in any case. The magazine is published twice a year and each issue has its own main theme. This is a continuation of our media project – only in an offline format. The aim of ZIMA CLUB is to connect and introduce each other Russian-speaking Londoners and ZIMA heroes, to create a platform for the exchange of ideas, thoughts and experience, as well as useful and pleasant acquaintances. We organize informal meetings with famous entrepreneurs, philanthropists, public figures and people of creative professions, hold master classes, film screenings, excursions, tastings and parties.
